Luxury Electronics: The TeleNav 5.0 is a portable, affordable, and mobile GPS navigational system that works directly through a mobile phone, a BlackBerry, a Palm Treo, or a Windows Mobile unit. It transmits directions similar to systems found on the dashboards of luxury automobiles. Except for Alaska, the TeleNav 5.0 works throughout the U.S. It is very simple to use. Dial an 800 number and then enter a request either vocally or by keypad. Step-by-step audio and video directions are provided instantly. There is also the option to pre-plan by entering requests for directions via TeleNav's website. Restaurants, ATMs, gas stations, businesses, hotels, and other places of interest are easily locatable. If a mistake is made while en route, the TeleNav immediately reroutes directions to stay on track.
Screen maps are in full color, and the zoom-in and zoom-out functions provide a screen view of surrounding streets too. Map updates are free, and directions can be easily personalized to users' preferences. The TeleNav 5.0 system works on dozens of supported devices that include Nextel, Verizon, Cingular, T-Mobile, Sprint, and Boost Mobile.
The service is offered through a monthly subscription that offers various levels of features. The basic TeleNav service subscription is less than $10 monthly. A TeleNav Bluetooth GPS receiver is required for most models, and a TeleNav GPS Navigator Software/Bluetooth GPS Bundle is required for Windows Mobile units. Optional devices include car chargers, phone holders, and charging cables.
