If you’re tired of electric scooters and bicycles, you may want to try your hand at an updated gyro-stabilized unicycle. The Solowheel may be one of the strangest urban modes of transportation, but it looks like a blast to ride. Retailing for $1,495, the little wheel is powered by an electric motor and apparently has no problem with hills or uneven terrain. The company compares riding it to the feeling of skating on one skate, with your inner legs resting against pads. Also, unlike traditional unicycles that require the rider to use their hips for steering and balancing, the Solowheel makes use of your feet, which is apparently easier. Plus, it’s about the size of a briefcase, so you can easily carry it by its handle when you’re not riding. The company has a couple versions in the works, including a $2,295 Solowheel Xtreme, but they aren’t on sale quite yet.
