How much is music worth to you? Berkeley, California-based Spiral Groove is hoping the answer is $30,000. Their new SG1.2 turntable is a heavier improvement on their award-winning SG1.1, which was released in 2007. The SG1.2 features a redesigned aluminum platter (which helps to add those 20 pounds) and revamped Strange Attractors feet that apparently limit vibration. Both factor help to deliver a clean sound, because the heavier the player, the least likely it will be to pick up vibrations from its surroundings. This is especially good news for anyone who walks like Big Foot. Another perk is that the tonearm can actually be removed and swapped out for others with needles customized for various musical genres. If you already have the SG1.1, don’t fret, because Spiral Groove will upgrade it for you for only $6,000.

Contact Spiral Groove to order the SG1.2.
