Wild Orchid Residences Give Buyers a Choice of Beach, Marina or Private Island Living in Belize

With its diverse wildlife and flora, living in Belize sounds like a dream. Because it's located between North and South America, there are a wide range of climates that make the land ideal for many different types of plants and animals — the jungles of Belize are even home to jaguars — and over 60 percent of the land is covered by forestry. There's also a barrier reef for snorkeling and scuba diving aficionados. If all this sounds amazing, you may want to check out Wild Orchid Residences because eight years ago they bought three fantastic properties in Belize and are offering home buyers the chance to live on the southern coastline.

Based in Placencia, Wild Orchid offers marina, beachfront, and private island living in custom-built homes with prices ranging from $689,000 to over $4.3 million. With well-known fans, like Coppola Resorts who said "Wild Orchid raises the bar and sets a new standard for the real estate/resort market" in the area, the development has been setting themselves apart from the "ordinary living" in Placencia (which is home to an annual Dive with the Whale Sharks).

At Wild Orchid Marina you have the option between a villa or a more standard home, both featuring a Caribbean design aesthetic and giving the option of two to five bedrooms. The villas come with private infinity pools and rooftop terraces, while the homes include gardens filled with indigenous plants, floor-to-ceiling windows and either lagoon or marina views. Both the villas and homes are meant to bring nature within, providing pools, terraces, outdoor showers, frontage boat slips for water toys, and 360-degree views.

If you like the beach more, try one of their seven beach villas (available with three to five bedrooms). Found on a long stretch of white sand, the homes overlook the Caribbean Sea and feature open living and dining areas. The villas come with a "state-of-the-art kitchen, media room, modern bathrooms, infinity swimming pool and Jacuzzi, rooftop terraces, beautiful lush gardens and a two-car garage." Living at the marina or beach will allow you access to many different amenities, like a gym, restaurants, boutiques, a lounge bar, tennis courts, and a spa.

Wild Orchid Caye is a private island 12.5 miles east of Placencia and Wild Orchid Beach, great for anyone who wants to get away a little. The 12-acre chunk of land is limited to ten villas (three to five bedrooms), each one sitting on around one-quarter acre of beach. Residents of the island will have access to the Private Marina Dock, the Island Restaurant serving fresh local ingredients from their own garden, and the Moho Spa & Gym (which offers natural products and signature treatments).

With 16 miles of beaches (known to be "Barefoot Perfect"), coral-studded cayes, rainforest, lagoons, and plenty of festive events (like traditional Creole fishing, the June Lobster Festival, and the End of the World Marathon and Half Marathon), you certainly won't run out of things to do while living at Wild Orchid.
