New York City may have a ton of luxury residential buildings, but not all of them sport a cool octagonal design. One Sixty Madison’s 45 floors are angled just right to form an eight-sided polygon, making the building a pretty neat addition to Manhattan’s NoMad neighborhood. J.D. Carlisle Development Corporation (along with DLJ Real Estate Capital Partners and Mitsui Fudosan America, Inc.) have officially opened the 319 units up for leasing, offering rentals that range from $3,235/month for a studio to $6,235/month for a two bedroom home.
“This first-ever, octagonal design breaks with the typical New York City street wall,” says Evan Stein, president of J.D. Carlisle. “The angled footprint of the tower allows our tenants to experience Manhattan’s skyline from a unique perspective, including views of city landmarks like the Chrysler Building and the Empire State Building. These vantage points are unique and game changing to the rental market.”
Standing at 525 feet, One Sixty Madison’s exterior look was designed by SLCE Architects and boasts interiors from Philip Koether Architects. The units feature floor-to-ceiling windows, white oak flooring, open layouts and corner homes get triple-angled panoramic views.
Residents are able to take advantage of its Club Madison membership, which offers over 20,000 square feet of amenity space and access to the signature Three Sixty Lounge on the top floor. “The Lounge features an eight-foot-wide indoor fireplace and two expansive rooftop terraces with breathtaking views of the city and beyond.” There is also a fitness center that overlooks the 14,000-square-foot Park Lounge, which is surrounded by a private landscaped park.
