Located just 15 minutes outside of downtown Toronto, the mansion at 26 Park Lane Circle has entertained plenty of famous figures like Richard Nixon, Margaret Thatcher, The Duke of Edinburgh and Sir Elton John. Currently owned by Lord Conrad Black (a former newspaper publisher and author), the 6.6-acre property has been in the Black family for 65 years and is estimated to be worth $21.8 million. On March 8 it will be offered for sale through Concierge Auctions, marking the first time the house has hit the real estate market.
The 23,000-square-foot Georgian home sits in the upscale Bridle Path neighborhood and was designed by architect Thierry W. Despont, who has worked with Bill Gates and Greek shipping tycoon Stavros Niarchos. It features some pretty unique details (like a chapel consecrated by two Cardinals and a circular, two-story library) and includes six bedrooms, nine full bathrooms and three half. It also has high ceilings, several entertaining rooms, a three-story foyer with a staircase at the center, a chef’s kitchen and many terraces that look out over the gardens.
Bridle Path is known as “Millionaires’ Row” to locals and is full of million-dollar homes owned by influential people—even the musician Prince used to own a property there. “The chance to own here is rare and should be seriously considered by luxury buyers globally,” says Mike Russo, vice president of Concierge Auctions.
The home is being offered with an undisclosed reserve price and previews are available by appointment only.
