Remotely Rev your Engine

Remote Technology: Imagine being able to remotely start your car to heat it up in the cold weather or cool it down in the hot sun all from up to one mile away. No longer do you have to wait for a car to heat up in the dead of winter thanks to the folks at Directed Electronics, who have introduced the Clifford Matrix 50.5X security with remote start system. The unit has a two-way transceiver with responder technology so with the quick press of a button, there is instant confirmation of the remote start.

The system requires installation by a professional and can easily be expanded to meet future security needs. If you are unsure how to install a car alarm, it is better to bring the unit to an experienced technician for a full warranty.

One of the best features of this unit is being able to stand up to a mile away from the car and being able to start it with the quick click of a button and receiving confirmation the vehicle has been started. The remote control also acts like a pager, notifying the user by beeping or vibrating when the security system siren is activated.

The interactive display on the remote confirms all commands with easy to understand icons as well as text. It alerts users to security system triggers by beeping or vibrating when out of audible range of the siren.

The new Responder SST system employs digital frequency hopping and multiple frequency transmission to assure that, if a frequency is blocked, the signal still goes through. Responder SST also uses dual error correction systems to combat signal data corruption and minimize signal interference.

Arming the vehicle is simple with just one click of a button and the car is actively secured. If you wish to "passively" secure the vehicle, the system can be programmed to arm itself automatically 30 seconds after the vehicle is turned off. Once armed, if a door is opened, the alarm will sound and lights will flash to notify you that the vehicle is still armed.

Believe it or not, the security system may even be activated while driving by simply pressing on the transmitter for two seconds. The silent mode also disarms the system's chirps while the panic button attracts passersby's attention in case of an emergency situation.

The valet mode prevents the system from automatically arming and is a helpful setting when having the vehicle serviced, transported or moved by someone unfamiliar with the alarm.

If you are starting the car from quite a distance away during inclement weather, you may opt to use the rear defroster activation output. With the quick press of a button, your car will not only be warm but the windshields clear for driving.

Directed Electronics, Inc. is the biggest name in car security products and is also a supplier of home audio, mobile audio and video, and satellite radio products. The Clifford Matrix 50.5X retails for approximately $599.
