Luxury Jewelry: Philip Crangi has a unique aesthetic perfect for luxury jewelry lovers always on the lookout for the next best thing.
The product of art history professors, Crangi draws a lot of his artistic influence from the past, including Greco-Roman artifacts, Baroque ironwork, and Japanese armor.
Crangi trained at the renowned Rhode Island School of Design (RISD) as a goldsmith and began his company with his partner and sister Courtney Crangi. The two created jewelry with unusual materials, including hammered steel and combine them with luxury materials including precious metals, like 18k gold.
Philip Crangi's jewelry appears regulary in the pages of high fashion magazines like Elle, W, Vogue, Harper's Bazaar and more. His creative style has made him a favorite of celebrities including Drew Barrymore, Cameron Diaz, Demi Moore, Lindsay Lohan, Lucy Liu, and Julianne Moore.
As befits his particular brand of luxury, his studded creations can be found at luxury retailers on the web.
Earlier this year, he partnered with The Gap in their second annual Design Editions white-blouse makeover and with Vera Wang in her February runway show, providing jewelry the outspoken New Yorker called jewelry "on steroids."
Earlier this summer, Crangi was awarded the prestigious Swarovski Award for Emerging Talent Accessory Design to by the Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA).
"I would describe my aesthetic as one of contrast in material, color, and mood," Philip says.
