 Poker Tournaments: Just in time to keep high-rollers occupied after the hustle and bustle of the holidays, Borgata has announced the details of its fourth annual Borgata Winter Poker Open.
The luxurious Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa has announced that the 17-day tournament will commence on January 13, 2009, and end with the Borgata Championship Event, January 25 - 29.
The event comes on the heels of September's Poker Open, which offered the largest guaranteed prize pool ever by a casino-hotel. For the upcoming event, Borgata is offering players a guaranteed prize pool of $2 million in this year's Winter Open Championship event ($3,000 Buy-In + $200 Entry).
" This year's Winter Poker Open will offer a broad range of events to appeal to our customers, and for the first time in a seasonal event, Borgata will offer players a guaranteed prize pool of $2 million in the Championship Event," said Ray Stefanelli, Director of Poker Marketing for Borgata. "We are confident that our 2009 WPO will attract both loyal and new players, and continue to position Borgata as the preeminent destination for poker on the East Coast."
The Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa is located at Renaissance Pointe in Atlantic City. With features including 2,000 guest rooms and suites, 161,000 square feet of gaming, 200 gaming tables, 4,100 slot machines, 14 destination restaurants, 11 retail boutiques, a 54,000 square foot luxury spa, as well as 70,000 square feet of event space, and parking for 7,100 cars, the poker tournament is sure to be big.
Registration begins January first and will be available in varying capacities through January 28.
