Golf: Calling all golfers - Boccieri Golf has just unveiled its Mid-Weight Series Heavy Putter, which will have all of your fellow golfers envious. The putter has the same traditional weighting structure of added mass in the head and grip but to a lesser extent than the original series, weighing in at 750 grams. (The original Heavy Putters measure in at 900 and conventional brands about 500 grams).
Heavy Putter burst onto the putter scene several years ago offering a weighty solution to the common putting problem. Since then, professional golfers like Troy Matteson have used the Heavy Putter to win the PGA TOUR's Frys.com Open en route to five consecutive top-ten finishes. In addition, the Heavy Putter has contributed to a victory and three top-five finishes on the 2008 European PGA TOUR.
If you have had difficulty perfecting a smooth pendulum stroke, the Heavy Putter is ideal for you. The added weight forces the body to use its larger core muscles for a more stable swing rather than the smaller, twitchy muscles in the hands and wrists, which are not as reliable. The consistent stroke offers greater accuracy and precision. The club is available in either a black PVD or silver satin finish.
The Heavy Putter Mid Series consists of three blades and two mallets. The J2 satin right handed club is beautifully designed and features a deeper flanged blade that offered the forgiveness of a mallet with a sleek top-line.
The Heavy Putter is exactly what it claims to be "heavy" but the Mid-Weight Series is lighter. While it may be a little too heavy for some golfers, we felt the club delivered precision shots on both short and long putts.
Keep in mind the club's head is the same size of a normal putter but just weighs more than conventional models. While some golfers struggle with improved consistency on their putting stroke, the Heavy Putter's application of a heavier mass head and counter-balanced weight in the grip end of the shaft promotes greater stroke stability, consistent swing paths, uniform pace, precise distance and directional control, and tightens the end-over-end golf ball roll.
The Mid-Weight Series has the same beauty of the original Heavy Putter but now offers an easier swing with its lighter club. The Heavy Putter now offers the same innovative technology to golfers needing a stabilized and precise putt. Heavy Putter Mid-Weight series models come in standard and mid lengths and retail for $169.
