The Aquatic Pod Suite Is a Wet Dream!
If a cluster of these spherical-disk-shaped pods
appeared in the water next to your boat one morning,
it may prompt fear that the aliens are here. However,
at a cost of $91,000, you could at least be assured
that the spacemen have money. The aquatic pod suite is
not the answer to California's astronomically soaring
real estate market (not yet anyway). However, it could
fit in well with nearly any water-related ventures and
be quite the value-added gadget to enhance and enrich
such outings.
This is the ultimate floating clubhouse. Beam lights
illuminate its see-through bottom, and it sets about
five feet below water. This self-contained, 150
square-foot circular suite can be towed by a boat or
anchored. It has all creature comforts needed for two
people, including a king-size bed, a central air
conditioning system, a desalination unit, a mini-bar,
and an audio-video system. The unit also has a
bathroom. Interior headroom is over seven feet, and
the exterior is 28.5 feet. A floating terrace
surrounds the pod like a patio, while adding extra
buoyancy and protecting it from scratches and bumps.
The entrance is a watertight aviation design that
prevents moisture from dampening the interior. A
diesel generator with an exhaust silencer produces
220-volt power to supply electricity.
It is perfect for mermaid watching. This is a
Hammacher Schlemmer catalog exclusive item.
