The Luxury New Carnival Panorama Debuts in Long Beach

Jill Weinlein

Before the new Carnival Panorama cruise ship set sail on her inaugural voyage to Mexico, Christine Duffy, President of Carnival Cruise Line came onboard to introduce this luxury ship to cruise fans in Long Beach, CA. "The Carnival Panorama is the first brand-new Carnival ship to sail from Long Beach at the Carnival Cruise Terminal in 20 years," said Duffy. "After her maiden voyage from Long Beach to Ensenada, she will cruise from Long Beach for seven-night sailings to the Mexican Riviera visiting the ports of Cabo San Lucas, Mazatlan and Puerto Vallarta."

Now West Coast cruise travelers can experience a Mexican Riviera vacation on a brand new ship without flying. Just park a car or Uber to the Carnival Cruise Terminal and walk onboard.

Godmother Vanna White from the award winning game show Wheel of Fortune sat next to Captain Carlo Quierolo during the festivities while watching the USC Trojan Band march and perform near the stage. For 37 years, White has entertained millions of Americans with the sweetest smile alongside Pat Sajak. Duffy said, “Vanna has been that welcoming face, cheering on and watching over Wheel of Fortune contestants for decades, and we love the fact that Vanna will be doing the same for Carnival Panorama, her guests and crew, as the ship's godmother.”

Carnival President Duffy introduced the ship's Celebrity Chefs Guy Fieri, Rudy Sodamin, and Emeril Lagasse who all create exciting menu and dining opportunities for Carnival passengers.

Onboard the Carnival Panorama there are 10 different indoor and al fresco dining experiences, including Carnival’s most popular Guy Fieri’s – Guy’s Burger Joint, and his Guy’s Pig & Anchor Bar-B-Que Smokehouse and Brewhouse. This onboard working brewery offers an exclusive line of Parched Pig craft brews — a smoked porter, a farmhouse ale, a hoppy IPA and a toasted amber, brewed under the supervision of a pro brewmaster.

This ship offers guests a number of exciting new indoor amenities, including a 3,000-square-foot SkyZone Trampoline Park with a 12-lane trampoline court, Carnival Kitchen Studio for cooking classes, and a Cloud 9 spa and fitness center.

Fun outdoor activities include a “bike in the sky” ride, ropes course, miniature golf, basketball, jogging lane, three swimming pools, and an outdoor water park with a 455-foot-long slide.

One of the best areas on the ship for families with children 12 years and older is staying in one of the Havana Cabana Suites. The tropics-inspired staterooms offer two twin beds that can be converted into a king bed. A comfortable sofa, coffee table, and full bathroom with a rain shower enhance each cabin. What makes the 5th floor suites extra special is the floor-to-ceiling sliding glass door leading out to an outdoor lanai. This spacious outdoor patio offers comfortable chairs, a table and a swinging hammock chair for additional living space.

Staying in this area offers passengers exclusive Havana amenities including access to its own Cuban-themed bar and Havana Pool and outdoor bar area. Steps lead to two raised whirlpool tubs above the swimming pool at the aft of the ship. Only Havana guests can enjoy reserved deck lounge chairs and sun bathing areas.

The ultimate family vacation is staying in the extra-roomy, keycard-protected Family Harbor section of the ship. Family Harbor Suite Stateroom 2414 has a larger balcony and spacious interior featuring colorful nautical decor. There is a full bathroom and a separate bathtub area. Kids can curl up on a cozy sectional sofa with a television and privacy curtain.

Exclusive perks that families love include the nearby Family Harbor Lounge. This area offers breakfast, snacks during the day, plus Hasbro board games, family movies, and video games. Other benefits at Family Harbor include free dining onboard the specialty restaurants for young passengers, and a free evening of Night Owls babysitting service, so parents can get a little alone time.
