Luxury Autos: It is wonderful (? meraviglioso) in any language! The 2007 Lamborghini Murciélago LP640 is the revered automakers latest futuristic revving road rocket. Originally designed in 2002 by Luc Donckerwolke to replace the Diablo, the LP640 is a two-door coupe with 640 horsepower at 8,000 RPM. It is powered by a V-12 mid engine with either a six-speed manual transmission or a six-speed manual with automatic shifting. The all-wheel-drive land rocket is a two-door coupe production car that goes from zero to 62 mph in 3.4 seconds and has a top speed of 211 mph. However, fuel efficiency is 9 miles per gallon in the city and 13 mpg on freeways. There is a coupe and a roadster LP640.
The body of the Murciélago LP640 is made from the synthesis of sheet steel and honeycombed fiber. The 2007's redesigned electronically controlled damper coupled with powered rack-and-pinion steering improves the vehicle's overall stability and handling. With a top speed of 211 mph, it may be prudent to go for the optional ceramic carbon brakes with six-piston-brake calipers for better braking.
Regarding the new interior, the biggest change is the
more spacious and comfortable seats and redesigned head restraints. The instrument panel has revised lights, a new graphic design, a Kenwood stereo, and a 6.5-inch widescreen monitor. There also is a DVD, an MP3 and a WMA player. A navigation system is optional.
Forty LP640s were produced in 2003 to celebrate Lamborghini's fortieth anniversary. Per Wikipedia, Vanessa Bryant, the wife of Kobe, is in a league of her own as the owner of the only Lamborghini Murciélago LP640 with an automatic transmission. The price tag of 2007 model is in the low-to-mid threes.
