2009 Aston Martin V8 Vantage Roadster

Luxury Autos: A recent viewing of an advertisement to lease an Aston Martin V8 Vantage Roadster prompted us to determine what one gets when leasing a vehicle with an MSRP of more than $140,000. Engine-wise, the car is equipped with a 420 bhp 4.7-liter V-8 engine. While a top speed of 180 mph and a zero-to-62 mph time of 4.7 seconds are somewhat modest in the world of high-end exotic sports cars and supercars, the vehicle's balanced weight distribution coupled with lightness, superior aerodynamics, and powerful engine offers real drivers - and not just test drivers - the opportunity to experience the Vantage's performance stats firsthand.

The engine in the Vantage is at 77 percent at 1,500 RPM and tops out at 5,750 RPM - leaving a lot of room to get behind the power and enjoy the handling that comes from rack-and-pinion steering and a speed-sensitive power-assisted steering system. The transmission on the rear-wheel-drive car is a six-speed manual with a limited split differential.
