Luxury Supercars Over $200k: The 2009 CL 65 AMG is a high-performance coupe with the heart of a Formula One racer with the luxury expected from the Mercedes-Benz brand. However, with the CL 65 AMG being part of the fabled stable of the Mercedes-Benz AMG division of supercars, the vehicle's elegant appearance only comes into focus when the high-performance coupe is at a full stop.

When in motion, the car's agility and powerful AMG V12 bi-turbo 604-horsepower engine, racecar sensitive brakes, and superior suspension are front and center. The track-worthy coupe's five-speed automatic transmission with manual shifters adds the oomph, while 20-inch, five-spoke light alloy wheels side skirts, a rear apron, and four chromed exhaust tips accentuate a riveting sporty "bling" that the car's power and agility backs up most convincingly.

Being a political proper automaker, the electronically governed top speed of the CL 65 AMG, a vehicle that weighs more than 5,800 pounds, is 155 mph. Its 4.2 seconds time in zero to 60 mph is equally impressive. The superior handling stems from the active suspension (ABC) and hydraulic dual-circuit brake system.

That's not to say that the Mercedes-Benz AMG coupe is an all-adrenaline $200,000 plus high-performance muscle car. It also has luxury amenities aplenty, including an entertainment, a navigational, a telephonic system, and other optional goodies, such as an iPod integration kit and a VPC installed Bluetooth phone cradle.

The leather interior is plush and features diamond-stitched accents in the seats and side panels. The mirror-like polished exotic wood and stainless steel accents throughout complement the decorum of the cabin. From the brushed stainless steel door seals to the foot pedals dotted with non-slip black rubber pads to the ergonomically correct AMG leather sports seats and steering wheel, this car means business.

The feel from behind the wheel steers drivers into a lane of sensorial pleasures experienced by only a fortunate few. The base price of the 2009 CL 65 AMG is $203,700.
