Luxury Cars: Lexus made quite an appearance at the Frankfurt Auto Show with its new LS 600H: a hybrid colossus which benefited from important technological and design upgrades.
The revised model features re-worked seats, improved equipment, new Eco driving mode and re-worked, larger 380mm ventilated front disc brakes with six-piston callipers, rotors and pads developed with the help of specialist manufacturer Brembo. The new LS 600h is powered by a Lexus Hybrid Drive system featuring a new ECO mode that helps to improve fuel economy. The system accomplishes this due to a higher performance of the air conditioning and a lower charging on the engine under acceleration. Due to an innovative packaging the battery was split in two sections of 6 and 14 modules reducing the overall size and giving a larger space for deposit in the boot. All of the modifications made to the LS 600h's Hybrid Drive System meet the Euro V exhaust emissions standards, keeping at the same time its performance at a high level: a mixture between the 5.0L V8 petrol engine and the 165kW electric motor, producing an output of 439bHP, reaching 100km/h in just 6.3s.
