Luxury Cars: Your significant other won't stop talking about his dream car, the Ferrari Enzo. Or maybe it's the Carrera GT. The good news is, you're about to get a break. The bad news-at least for you-is that a new car beat the production road car speed record. Clocking over 240 mph, the relatively un-famous Koenigsegg CCR from Sweden now holds the esteemed spot as the fastest car.

Sweden, the magical place that gave us IKEA and the founders of K-Swiss, is not known for their automotive excellence. Christian von Koenigsegg would like to change that reputation. Beating a world record is a good place to start. But you may think a car that goes that fast is more insane than revolutionary. Unless you're engaged in a high-speed chase, you probably won't need to go over 240 mph but to thrill seekers it's hardly the point. For extreme speed junkies, the CCR's exhilarating speeds are the selling points, for their girlfriends or spouses the luxury features make this street rocket worth the while.

Unlike many super fast cars, the CCR is surprisingly comfortable. The interior is elegantly finished and features an impressive suite of luxe considerations, including climate control, power windows, leather-trimmed seats and dashboard and CD sound system. Other CCR technological specifics include the cutting edge brakes, new racing shock absorbers, a monocoque carbonfibre intake plenum, the CCR advanced throttle and an increase of size to 19" for the front wheels. If you still think the world is fine without another 200+ mph supercar, we understand but don't try to change his mind.
