MTN Satellite Communications and Jetstream recently announced the availability of Jetstream HD, a high-definition streaming content solution that enables luxury yachts to have content in high-definition over televisions, mobile devices, tablets, and computers while at sea.
The system allows yacht owners to access television channels in high-definition worldwide. Jetstream HD provides access to satellite receivers from international providers, such as Kartina (Russia), Orbit (Arabia) and Direct TV (U.S.).
"We continue to build and strengthen our value-added service offerings to give our yacht customers the same luxury experiences at sea as they are accustomed to having at home," said Derik Wagner, managing director, MTN Yacht Services Division. "Streaming an HD signal requires a robust and stable network, and as the chosen VSAT provider to the world's largest yachts, we are the ideal partner to bring the Jetstream solution to market. MTN is not just a bandwidth provider; we focus on our customers and create solutions that meet their maritime communications needs; this partnership underscores that focus."
Jetstream is a media delivery and communications company based in Monaco that offers high-tech services to the yachting community. The Jetstream HD system is the first specifically designed video streaming service for yacht owners. It will be demonstrated at the upcoming Monaco Yacht Show, running September 19-22, 2012.
