Watch a $6.2M Superyacht Sink Off the Coast of Greece & Be Glad It's Not Yours

Ever wonder what a $6.2-million-dollar yacht sinking looks like? Now you don’t have to ponder, because you have the above video to watch (while cringing, of course). The superyacht in question was off the coast of Mykonos when it hit a barrier reef late last week in the wee hours of the morning. Due to the strike, the vessel (which is called Aloha) started taking on water and the four people onboard had to be rescued by a patrol boat. Thankfully, no one was hurt—unless you count their hearts fracturing from the loss.

According to Mykonos Daily, port officials set up a containment boom around the Aloha (which is thought to be a Ferretti Custom Line Navetta 33) to mitigate fuel and oil spills. The crash is being thought to have been caused by electronic issues that interfered with the superyacht’s safety equipment. Without any further details, we can only cross our fingers in the hopes that the unknown owner has some great insurance coverage.
