The Carlyle: Last New High Rise on Wilshire Corridor

Luxury Real Estate: The Carlyle is the last high-rise tower to be raised in the prestigious Wilshire Corridor area of Los Angeles. The move-in date for the affluent residents of the 24-story vertical luxury community with 78 private residences is the first quarter 2009. No further permits to construct high-rise structures are to be issued to developers in the "Golden Mile" Wilshire Corridor, which is flanked by Beverly Hills, Bel Air, Brentwood, and Century City.

The raising of the Carlyle is a proud moment for the residence's developers. Elad Properties, the same company responsible for refurbishing the Plaza in NYC, is at the helm of this grandiose luxury development.

Residents will receive membership to the exclusive Regency Club and the Sports Club LA will operate the Carlyle's health club. There will be a large pool and sunning area, and owners will have access to a wine cellar and a large dining area for private affairs. Additionally, services as provided by the finest five-star hotels and resorts, such as 24-hour white-glove concierge service, will be in place to further provide for the high net-worth homeowners.

Fendi Casa is designing the public areas, and an original glass-blown sculpture by Dale Chihuly will be the centerpiece of the Carlyle's lobby. The floor plans of the private homes range from 2,700 up to 5,000 square feet. Other properties developed by Elad Properties include the O'Neill Building and One Madison. The firm with the $7.5-billion luxury-property portfolio has formed Elad Properties West. The firm purchased the 34.5-acre site of the demolished New Frontier on the Strip of Las Vegas to build the Plaza Las Vegas. Stay tuned for updates.
