Luxury Homes: We all know Orange County, California,
is ranked as one of the premier communities to reside
in, especially along the shoreline of the Pacific
Ocean and the city of Corona del Mar. It's a
world-class destination, right? But is it the right
time for a new high to be reached, as Frank Pritts
III, founder of the software company Attachmate Corp,
has put his home on the market for $75 million?
The
Portabello is an ultramodern home located on three
adjoined tract lots situated on the bluffs above a
sandy beach that features eight bedrooms sharing ten
bathrooms, a bowling alley, a vintage movie theater,
high-tech electronics, a gym, and a wine cellar
secured by a steel vault door. The curving structure,
which bends up and over and around like a sand dune,
is surrounded by three pools, two spas, and a cafe and
a personal auto museum. All of this is located on
slightly less than an acre of land. It may be ranked
second to the Donald's $125-million asking price for
Maison de L'Amitie in Palm Beach, Florida, but the
views from the Brighton Drive home, which was built in
1998, is worth an easy $20 million alone.
It is offered through the McMonigle Group, and valued
on replacement costs of about $1,500 per square foot.
