Luxury Homes: It is always interesting to see historically rich buildings transformed into 21st century mainstays that fuse two generations together to create awe-inspiring presences. Chelsea has two such phenomena with Altair 18 and Altair 20. Both 18 and 20 offer sophisticated luxury living at its finest with lavish lofts of approximately 2,300 to 3,330 square feet of living space. All units feature a minimum of three full baths and offer either two or three bedrooms. Altair 18 offers 24-hour concierge service, while both 18 and 20 offer roof space with a rooftop deck, cabana, and a gym equipped with an array of exercise equipment.
The living rooms and baths have radiant-heat flooring. Altair 18's flooring for living rooms come in either limestone or wide-plank white oak. Flooring for 20's living rooms have wide-plank cherry flooring for the west lofts and wide-plank walnut for the east lofts. Wood-burning fireplaces are in 18; gas-burning fireplaces are in 20. Kitchens for both buildings offer cabinetry by Valcucine of Italy and appliances by Sub Zero and Miele. Bathrooms are spectacular with marble walls, Dornbracht fittings, Bain Ultra Thermo Masseur tubs, and Sony Wega flat-panel televisions. Marbles of grigio carnico and bleu de savoie adorn the walls of 18, while textured novelda-cream marble frames the baths of 20.
Both Altair 18 and Altair 20 center residents in vibrant neighborhoods filled with numerous gourmet and
fine-dining establishments, divergent shopping choices, various parks, plus a trove of museums, art galleries and theaters.
The Corcoran Group represents the Altair offerings in Chelsea and various other prestigious listings located in anhattan, Brooklyn, Long Island City, The Hamptons, New Jersey, South Florida, and internationally.
