The recent "Rock of Ages" movie has put many in a hair-metal mood this summer, with some of the bands of yesteryear going out on tour once again. However, not all rock stars spend their lives on stage; some it seems, turn into real estate developers.

Jim Gillette, the former front man of glam metal band Nitro, turned it up during the 1980's and went on to marry rock goddess Lita Ford. Flash forward twenty years and the man with the massive blond mane now sports a clean-shaven head and a killer tan. Gillette is now at home in the Turks and Caicos Islands and working on a yacht club project.
Gillette first came across the Turks and Caicos 12 years ago when he was planning on buying two acres on the main island of Providenciales for personal use. A quest for greater privacy drove him toward North Caicos where he fell in love with the beautiful garden island. He is now the largest land owner on North Caicos and he and his partners are responsible for creating The North Caicos Yacht Club project, as well as building the first bridge in the country. Gillette and his partners have invested over $30 million in project infrastructure, including sea wall construction.
Phase one of The North Caicos Yacht Club is being offered through a luxury real estate auction to be held on July 28, 2012. Four villas and thirteen beach and canal lots will be auctioned; two of the beach villas and five beach canal lots will be sold at Absolute Auction. Owner financing will be available on all auction properties.

The North Caicos Yacht Club is a residential/tourist commercial marina development on 154 acres of land located just across the breezeway from the world renowned spa resort of Parrot Cay.  There are 97 residential lots, 10 tourist/commercial lots, interconnecting canals, and two sizable marina basins.
The development features a continuous state-of-the-art vinyl sea wall, docks on each property, paved roads, underground utilities, and a coral stone finished European style bridge.

For Gillette, the beat goes on after the auction. "This is my home," he says, "I live here full time with my two young sons. I am completely invested in the success of The North Caicos Yacht Club because it is my home.”
