Home of 1920s Faith Healer Sister Aimee for Sale

Luxury Real Estate: And you thought celebrities following evangelists began when the Beatles met the Maharishi in 1967!

This regal-styled luxury property located in Lake Elsinore, Calif., is the former residence of one Aimee Semple McPherson. Known as Sister Aimee, she was an acclaimed faith healer with a celebrity following in the 1920s and 1930s and the founder of the Foursquare Church. The 1929-built property was designed to accommodate McPherson’s Hollywood lifestyle, according to a report by L.A.’s Channel 2 news.

Media-darling McPherson is among the first evangelists ever to use the radio to reach out to her flock. At public gatherings, she attracted audiences of more than 30,000. Many meetings and gatherings were held at the Lake Elsinore residence.

The single-family residence has about 4,400 square feet of living space with five bedrooms, six bathrooms, a living room, a dining room, and, of course, a prayer tower. The one-time castle-like dwelling of Sister Aimee is listed at $1.495 million. The property can be viewed at Realtor.com.
