Porsche Spiffs Up Fearless Yachts

Luxury Boats: Fearless Yachts recently made its bold debut at the Miami Boat Show, introducing a sleek luxury sports boat designed by the uber stylistic Porsche Design Group. Fearless Yachts opens its maritime merriment with the Fearless 28. It is a sports boat with a seamless deep-V-hull and durable lightweight construction. It blazes across water like a bullet shot out of a pistol at 70 knots (80 mph). The boat's lightness and litheness are attributable to its composite construction, which is a glass-fiber sandwich that is carbon-reinforced. The ship weighs 6,000 pounds, and it has a beam of 8.5 feet. The standard engine provides 525 horsepower, but it can be upgraded to a 550 horsepower, Ilmor V10 Marine Engine, which is based on the Dodge Viper Competition Coupe sports car's engine. The engine is both powerful and light, as the cylinder block and cylinder heads are precision-cast aluminum. Various sources report that the price of the Fearless 28 is around $300,000.

Four more brash boats are forthcoming. Fearless models 44 and 68 will be launched in 2008. The Fearless 68 is a luxurious sports yacht with two to three staterooms plus master and VIP cabins. The 44 is one heck of a hull, too. Its twin-step racing hull adds speed without deterring the watercraft's handling or maneuverability. Additionally, the Fearless 44 boasts a retractable swimming platform, custom racing seats, an automotive-style racing windshield, and a flexible racing configuration that enables usage of up to three engines.

Although there is no definitive definition for a superyacht, many industry pundits peg 100-foot-and-up vessels with such distinction. The Fearless 125's anticipated launch is 2009, while the Fearless 150 is expected to out in 2010. The suave touch of the Porsche Design Group is magnificently manifested throughout the line.

Porsche Design Group is a ubiquitous organization that over the years has developed many noteworthy products for numerous industries. Along with the development of Fearless Yachts, PDG is partnering with Adidas to produce sportswear and footwear.
