 Hatteras Luxury Builders: All Hatteras Yachts are luxurious, spacious, and smooth riding. Manufacturing motor yachts and sports-fishing convertibles is the firm's expertise. The current yacht lineup is comprised of seven motor yachts and eight sports-fishing convertibles. However, the Hatteras 72, which is the outfit's very sweet sixteenth model, is expected to launch by fall 2007. The renowned smooth ride of a Hatteras stems from its patented modified deep-V hull and fuller gear ratios than similar-size yachts. The deep-V hull provides more stability, while the expanded gear ratio allows propellers to turn out slower.
The Hatteras 72, with a beam of more than 20 feet, features a spacious saloon, a full-beam master stateroom, a galley with walk-in pantry, and the dining area comfortably seats six. The kitchenette has a 42-inch upright Sub-Zero refrigerator/freezer, a four-burner cook top and a microwave convection oven. Including the master stateroom, there are three staterooms below deck. The interior has various exotic wood finishes and granite tabletops are throughout. A 42-inch flat-screen plasma television and a large couch make the saloon the perfect all-purpose recreation room. A sunk-in bar area also is optional. Additional storage space is available with extra storage drawers and overhead cabinets in the galley island. There also is a storage room with two access points that can serve as either an additional stateroom or the crew's quarters.
The spacious aft deck has molded seats and a wood table, and the flybridge can be accessed from either the galley or the aft deck. Additionally, there is a large sunpad on the fore deck that converts into a seat. The port and starboard side decks are very convenient for moving around the entire ship. The windlass is recessed into a well that drains overboard, keeping the forward deck clean.
