Luxury Cruises: The Paul Gauguin of Regent Seven Seas Cruises is a masterpiece cruise ship that boasts of six-star-service from stem to stern. Named after one of the 20th century's most colorful expressionist painters, the festive and vibrant two-tiered luxury cruise liner represents its namesake well. The 513-feet-long Paul Gauguin is used for six-day cruises through the South Pacific's Society Islands, including Tahiti and the islands of French Polynesia. The vessel has accommodations for 320 passengers with eight types of staterooms. The most-luxuriant Grand Suites offer 300-square-foot staterooms, large verandas, and butler services. Even the smallest staterooms offer 200 square feet of space.

The width of the luxury liner is less than 72 feet. This enables the hull to enter narrower channels than most cruise liners. The ship has a sea level, water-sports platform that allows guests to scuba dive, water ski, board a windsurfer, or launch a kayak. Scuba-diving certification courses are offered too. Onboard activities include table tennis and training on paddling an outrigger canoe. There is a reading gallery and complimentary videos are available. Dining options on the ship are French, continental, and international cuisines, with award-winning chef Jean-Pierre Vigato serving as the ship's gastronomist. The spa of the Paul Gauguin offers an array of beauty treatments and massages and a complete workout facility. There also is an onboard casino, Le Casino, and a lounge/nightclub with live entertainment. Four-wheel-drive vehicles are available for shore excursions on the islands, as well as helicopter charters, waverunners, outrigger canoes, and island tours

Regent Seven Seas Cruises, as the company's nomenclature implies, has luxury cruises worldwide, with trips that range from one to six days and beyond three weeks. Frequent voyagers may have interest in the firm's Seven Seas Society. There are three levels of membership and perks and special privileges extended to members. Various special offers are extended graciously to all travelers throughout the year on Regent's website.
