 Glass-Bottom Boats: The latest line of glass-bottom boats by Paritet Boats is so innovatively designed that it is quite easy to mistake these vessels as being objects of a different world. A side view of an Ellips more readily draws comparisons to a large fish than a boat. The aluminum-alloy hull, which is 28 feet long and 12 feet wide, accommodates seven, including the captain. The glass-bottom catamaran has some oomph with a maximum speed of 65 knots. However, it is very fuel-efficient too.
Beyond its resemblance of an extraterrestrial fish, the interior of the Ellips is quite lavish with its
Recaro seats, shower room, two refrigerators, plus an 800-watt stereo system, a GPS, and an autopilot
system. There also is an electronic compass, auto-pumps, an automatic anchor device and a canopy with side windows.
The Ellips has both a serious and a casual side. It definitely makes a day out in the water an interesting voyage with its most intriguing submerged point of view. It also can be quite practical for research or science-related projects.
The Russia-based Paritet Boat has other glass-bottom vessels with its Looker series. There is a Looker 17, a Looker 25 and a Looker 30. Currently these boats can be taken for a test drive in Dubai, Madagascar, the Maldives Islands, Cabo San Lucas, Barabados, the Grand Cayman, and the British Virgin Islands.
