 Luxury Yachts: Ocean Alexander may be the most communal company in
the yachting industry. The company's sponsored
Rendezvous gatherings are yearly events attended by
owners from around the world. It is a forum where
owners of OA yachts gather to discuss their boating
experiences. The 2006 Rendezvous runs from June 1 to
June 4 and is being held at the Roche Harbor Resort
located in San Juan Island, Washington. This is the
sixth year anniversary of OAs' Rendezvous.
Ocean Alexander has offices in Seattle, Washington,
Shanghai, China, and Kahosiung, Taiwan, and dealers in
Australia, Canada, China, Germany, Japan, Norway, and
the USA. OA has 16 models of yachts available. The
vessels have been reviewed by such renowned
publications as Power and Motoryacht, Go Boating, Sea
and Yachting magazines, respectively.
The new 98 Motoryacht's debut at the 2006 Miami
International Boat Show was a rousing success. The
craft's overall length is 101 feet with a beam of 22
feet. Its fuel capacity is 4,000 gallons and the
ship's dry weight is 224,000 pounds. There are three
engine options with the most powerful being two 1,800
horsepower MTU, 12 volt 2000. Optional equipment
includes an enclosed flying bridge; a Carlisle & Finch
spotlight; an NVTi NightNav thermal-imaging system; a
GE chest-type freezer in engine room; an Olympic Hot
Tub Company hot tub; two Switlik 10-man life rafts; an
electronics package; and an 18' Novurania dinghy with
a Yamaha outboard. The base price is approximately $6
million, and with options, the price tag borders $7
million.
