Luxury Cruises: The Paul Gauguin of Regent Seven Seas Cruises is a masterpiece cruise ship that boasts of six-star-service from stem to stern. Named after one of the 20th century's most colorful expressionist painters, the festive and vibrant two-tiered luxury cruise liner represents its namesake well. The 513-feet-long Paul Gauguin is used for six-day cruises through the South Pacific's Society Islands, including Tahiti and the islands of French Polynesia. The vessel has accommodations for 320 passengers with eight types of staterooms. The most-luxuriant Grand Suites offer 300-square-foot staterooms, large verandas, and butler services. Even the smallest staterooms offer 200 square feet of space.
The width of the luxury liner is less than 72 feet. This enables the hull to enter narrower channels than most cruise liners. The ship has a sea level,
water-sports platform that allows guests to scuba dive, water ski, board a windsurfer, or launch a kayak. Scuba-diving certification courses are offered
too. Onboard activities include table tennis and training on paddling an outrigger canoe. There is a reading gallery and complimentary videos are

Regent Seven Seas Cruises, as the company's nomenclature implies, has luxury cruises worldwide, with trips that range from one to six days and beyond three weeks. Frequent voyagers may have interest in the firm's Seven Seas Society. There are three levels
of membership and perks and special privileges extended to members. Various special offers are extended graciously to all travelers throughout the year on Regent's website.
Yacht Charters: Seven Seas Yacht
Charters easily lives up to the built-in proclamation of its nomenclature. The seaworthy firm offers yacht excursions worldwide in mono-hull sailboats, powered catamarans or motor yachts that lavishly accommodate as few as two or ten or more guests. SSYC obtains appropriate vessels for trips involving any of the seven seas for seven-, 14-, or 21-day charters.
Itineraries are available that touch the Arctic, Indian, Atlantic and Pacific oceans. Four cruises throughout the Bahamas are available, while nine are
offered through the Caribbean Islands. Other
destinations include Greece, Turkey, the East and West
Mediterranean seas, the South Pacific and the Indian
Ocean.
Chartering services range from full-crew or
captain-only to bareboat plans. The organization, with
its 19-plus years of know-how, is firmly established
in the yacht-chartering industry. Luxury mega-yachts,
such as the Alexander and the Turama, both
approximately 400 feet long, can house 50 to 60
guests. Both can be chartered for Mediterranean
cruises. The SeaDream, with its 55 cabins, has room
for up to 110 guests and is available for
Mediterranean and Caribbean adventures. However, these
luxury vessels are just a few examples of the firm's
abundant offerings. Once clients specify their wants
and needs, Seven Seas then steers clients through the
course of actions necessary to escalate desires to
actual booked charters.
Years ago the company's maiden voyage into luxury
yacht chartering began as
Virgin Island
Sailing and
Virgin Island
Yachts. Both are direct affiliates of SSYC. Virgin
Island Sailing specializes in crewed charters, while
Virgin Island Yachts' specialty is bareboat charters.
Bareboat charters do offer the most independence and
exhilaration, but there is an accompanying level of
onboard competence that must be displayed by two
passengers to facilitate such arrangements. For smooth
sailing on rates, availability of yachts and
destinations, visit the informative website of Seven
Seas Yacht Charters.

Ship Talk:
Riviera is the largest boat manufacturer of Australia. The seaworthy company is renowned worldwide with sales and distribution in more than 30 countries. Riviera produces luxury watercraft through four distinctive model lines: Flybridge, Offshore Express, Sport Yacht, and Sport Cruiser. Flybridge, the firm's most prolific collection, has 10 offerings, including three new boats. The Sport Yacht collection boasts two models, while the Offshore Express and Sport Cruiser collection have just one model each. However, as the extremely industrious outfit annually produces approximately 350 ships, more ship models being launched is a given.
Rivieras are spacious and dependable crafts with a proclivity toward high performance and innovatively designed CAD/CAM hulls. Its technological standards are indeed noteworthy. Highly acclaimed naval architect Frank Mulder is the designer of prominent of the newest members of the Riviera Flybridge collection: the 47 Enclosed Flybridge, the 45 Open Flybridge, and the 41 Open Flybridge.

Riviera's 3600 SY was awarded the 2007 Best Motor Yacht Under 40 Feet at the Christophle Asia Boating Magazine Awards show.
A voyage to Riviera's Web site is an undeniable pleasure cruise yachtsmen will treasure. Landlubbers are welcomed too!
Luxury Yacht Charters: Perhaps the most significant teleological question ever asked was raised in 1907 by John R. Illingworth when he queried, "What is the true purpose of life's voyage?" It is likely that there are as many responses as there are citizens of Earth. It is not exactly the type of question where responses can be summarily categorized and reduced to a few choices like a market research survey. With zero regard to commensurable corollary topics, this question is not quite as complex. What is the true purpose of travelers who book a chartered-yacht voyage? Inter Yacht Charter believes that the true purpose of travelers seeking such an endeavor is to have an experience they will forever remember pleasantly and want to do repeat it. With IYC's breadth of over 130 charter offerings, it is possible for nautical-adventure lovers to recapture that sensation with a different destination again and again and again.
Inter Yacht Charter has over 1,300 yachts, ranging from 38 feet to over 400 feet. The firm's goal is to provide the largest accessible network of yacht charters available. Inter Yacht Charter can accommodate bareboat, crewed, luxury, or corporate yacht charters proficiently. From catamarans to mega yachts to three-day getaways to global-spanning extravaganzas, IYC handles every detail of clienteles'
journeys meticulously. It is all about being an exemplary service provider. Whether it is a question on sailing or the mores of a country or its people, all of the personnel affiliated with IYC are deftly experienced at doing their job and happy to help.
The company's website has a very informative FAQ section that offers extensive information on how to prepare for such a vacation. Another very impressive feature of Inter Yacht Charter's Web site is the world map, which depicts all the destinations available for charters. Plain and simple, IYC knows its purpose and delivers splendidly.
Yacht Charters: The Internet is among the prime sources that affluent consumers use to research the quality of luxury products and services prior to making a buying decision. Even if a purchase is made in person, the intelligence-gathering process usually begins on the Internet. The National Association of Realtors reported that at least 70-percent of properties purchased are first researched on the Web.
Here are a few companies that specialize in chartering yachts. We looked at their Web sites to determine if their sites are informative, entertaining, easy to operate, and user-friendly. What follows is a review of the Web sites of some of our favorite private yacht-chartering companies.
We feel that a little lauding and prodding among friends is a good thing. It is a proactive way to promote improvement.

Seven Sea's Yacht Charter obviously is soliciting a high-end luxury service. A clear and concise history of the company is presented, as well as complete contact info, including a physical address and phone numbers. Additionally, the company links to organizations, such as the Florida Yacht Brokers Association, the Mediterranean Yacht Brokers Association, and the Charter Yacht Brokers Association, that substantiate its credibility in the industry. Albeit there are no videos and the site's visual appeal is moderate at best, determining everything the firm does is simple and straight forward.

Yacht News:San Diego Yachtfest 2007 proved to be a success as it returned to Shelter Island for its eighth consecutive year earlier this month. With countless yachts and megayachts to pine over and the latest fashions to gawk over, Friday afternoon felt quite a turnout.
Making my way down the red carpeted docks I was nearly blinded by a sea of white as the beautifully appointed yachts glistened in the San Diego sun. An esteemed array of yachtbuilders, brokers, fractional ownership providers, commercial maintenance groups and industry insiders were on hand to answer any questions patrons might have.
In attendance were some of the industry's best ready to showcase their finest seafaring vessels. While some yachts provided mere viewing pleasure, others were listed for sale and came equipped with personal brokers ready to crunch numbers. I must admit, it can be awfully tempting when a broker tells you he can get you into a multi-million dollar yacht by the end of the day. Participating yachtbuilders included Ocean Alexander, Sunseeker, Fraser Yachts, and more.
Throngs of spectators, shaded by designer parasols and decorated hats, nibbled on hors d'oeuvres and sipped Chardonnay as they eagerly awaited the "All Decked Out Fashion Show," presented by Saks Fifth Avenue. Hosted by former San Diego Charger Vaughn Parker and Kimberly Biehl of Saks Fifth Avenue, the fashion show featured the latest trends of the season. Keeping with the event's nautical theme, models were escorted down the docks by members of the armed forces?a striking contrast of fashion at its finest. The fashion show ended on a high note when the U.S. Coast Guard was presented with "Greetings from California" care packages, which will be provided to San Diego troops overseas. Proceeds from the event benefited the San Diego Armed Services YMCA.
From stopping to take off your shoes to board one of the luxury yachts to perusing the vendors' packets of paraphernalia, San Diego Yachtfest 2007 was everything it promised to be.
Master Builders: While the size of one's boat may set yachtsmen apart, the underlying commonality is that all yacht owners are seamen at heart. Making a big splash on the marine scene today calls for something of substantive value. While every yacht out there is not a superyacht of 100 feet or more, or a mega-superyacht exceeding 200 feet in length, it should be equally superb as a looker and a performer.
Here is a recap of some the yacht builders we presented over the past year or so. Each one is a shipbuilder of worldwide acclaim. Trinity Yacht can produce a 400-foot-long vessel. Azimut Yachts is renowned for its advancements in soundproofing technology. Christensen Shipyards has built more yachts measuring 120 feet or longer of composite materials than any other builder. The Burger Boat Company built numerous vessels for the U.S. during wartime. The firm also produced the first all-steel-welded hull made in the U.S. All are capable of fulfilling a buyer's vision of a "dreamboat," whether it is a power or a sailing yacht.
Presenting the newest, the best, and the most innovative in all matters of luxury lifestyle is a never-ending process. So stay tuned. More noteworthy and up-and-coming yacht builders will be introduced throughout 2007 - and beyond.
Azimut Yachts
Azimut Yachts offer the best combination of features and benefits to its lucky owners. The Azimut 85, which premiered at the Genoa Boat Show in October 2005, is luxury afloat at its finest. The 85's length is actually a tad longer than its name and 22 feet wide. Stephano Righini designed the exterior and Carlo Galeazzi manned the interior. The advanced soundproofing techniques and windows on both decks are only two of the yacht's noteworthy and unique features.
AZIMUT YACHTS
Marquis Yacht
Marquis Yacht is a U.S.-based firm that is definitely on the rise. With each release, beginning with the Carver 59 Marquis, the company is diligently establishing its niche for launching innovative, Italian-inspired-designed yachts. The 59 features twin 660 horsepower Cummins QSM11 diesel inboards, with the option to upgrade to twin 825 horsepower MTU Series 60 diesel inboards. The ship's overall length is nearly 60 feet with platform and a waterline length that exceeds 45 feet. Standard features include a hydraulic swim platform and fore and aft shore-power ties.

Delta Marine
Saying it in Italian just sounds more romantic than saying it in English. But no matter how you say it, the 44.8-meters long Gran Finale by Delta Marine is one beautiful boat! Launched in 2002, this tri-deck is the winner of the 2003 "Best Motor Yacht Over 38 Meters" by Showboats International. Its all-encompassing craftsmanship is perhaps the boat's greatest benefit. However, providing a smooth ride at a cruising speed of 18 knots and a top speed over 20 knots, with its twin Caterpillar 3512B engine, is quite impressive too. READ MORE

Yacht Show: The world's leading luxury yacht show in Monaco is to pay for 55 wind turbines in New Zealand - enough to generate power for 45,000 homes - making the event "carbon neutral".
Under the watchful eye of Prince Albert, the yacht show is part of Monaco's new stance on global warming, and comes shortly after Prince Albert himself traveled to the North Pole in April to highlight the damage he believes global warming is having on the environment.
"Since Prince Albert came to the throne last year" comments Henri Boulanger of Monte Carlo travel guide YourMonaco, "Monaco has changed her policy from one of the few countries not to sign the Kyoto Protocol to not only signing it but taking a lead in the battle against global warming. Prince Albert has personally taken steps to show how concerned he is, and by setting the example of going to the North Pole has shown the leadership necessary to encourage Monaco companies to become environmentally friendly, and the Monaco Yacht Show is an example of this."
The Monaco Yacht Show has built a reputation over the years as the place for the wealthy to view potential purchases, and this year there will be nearly a hundred yachts on display to those able to afford it.
In total 22,000 visitors are expected to attend with over 500 exhibitors from the yachting world exhibiting.
The mix of wealth and Monte Carlo also means that real estate agents in Monaco will be on full alert. In previous years the Monaco Yacht Show has often proved more beneficial for the realtors than the Monaco Grand Prix.
The Monaco Grand Prix attracts tens of thousands of Formula 1 fans annually to the principality at the end of May, but with some Monte Carlo streets closed, showing property in Monaco can be more problematic than during the Yacht Show.
Monte Carlo real estate specialists Tribune Properties say that the more relaxed atmosphere of the Yacht Show allows potential property buyers to view properties.
"If someone is visiting Monaco for the Yacht Show and has several million Euros available, it's a pretty safe assumption that those buyers will have a few million for a property too, and a luxury yacht and Monaco Real Estate appeal to the same type of buyer", claims Roger Munns, Tribune's Managing Director.
Typical of Monaco Real Estate prices is a two bedroom two bathroom apartment in Seaside Plaza, close to where the Yacht Show is located, at 3,700,000 Euros.
Monaco Hotels
The emergence of the Yacht Show has helped the Monaco economy by drawing the world's wealthy to the principality for four days in September.
Until recently the Monaco Grand Prix in May and the Monte Carlo Masters tennis the month before have been the two main events of the year which boost the occupancy levels of the hotels in Monaco.
With the Yacht Show in September filling the hotels at premium rates, it has proved to be a welcome addition to the calendar of events for both residents and businesses alike, and the Hotel de Paris Monte Carlo will be the scene of many deals being signed over the four days.
This year also saw the first Monaco Flower Show, which it is hoped will also be a tourist magnet in future years.
"In the past Monaco has had the highlights of the Monaco Grand Prix and the tennis, with consistent numbers of visitors the rest of the year," state YourMonaco, 'but Monaco is becoming much more diverse in what it offers throughout the calendar year. The Yacht Show has been a success, and given a little time the Monaco Flower Show will appeal to a different type of tourist, and might be as popular as the Hampton Court and Chelsea Flower Shows are in the UK. Diversity is the key to sustained tourism, and Monaco is doing it very well.
Despite being the second smallest country in the world, Monaco has attracted many of the world's top business and entertainment people to live there due to her income tax free status, and with Prince Albert at the helm it seems that the principality is beginning to punch above her weight in world politics as h
Master Builders: It is very difficult to begin a sentence with a company that prefers not to capitalize its name or products, such as eLuxury, iPod, or oceAnco. However, what oceAnco does capitalize wisely are its resources when it comes to designing and building superyachts. The firm has built some of the finest 50-meter-plus vessels to clientele around the world. Its main office is in Monaco, and its shipyard is based in Albasserdam, Holland. The yacht builder's Web site boasts of 16 launched boats. Over the past three years, oceAnco has launched three stunning 60-meter-plus yachts: the Lady Lola at 62.6 meters, the Alfa Four at 60 meters, and the Dilbar at 66 meters. The Dilbar has two master suites and a dip pool on its sundeck that is over 15 feet wide. Mr. Alberto Pino is the interior designer of the steel hull with an aluminum superstructure, and oceAnco is both the naval architect and the exterior designers.
Lady Christina, previously known at the shipyard as Y565, is the most recently launched superyacht of oceAnco. The Francois Zuretti-designed beauty is 62 meters long and has four cabins plus a master suite. Additionally, there are captain's quarters and six twin cabins for the crew. The master suite includes a private salon, a dining area and a distinctive two-level bathroom. The twin Caterpillar-powered "Lady" has a top speed of 15 knots and a cruising speed of 12 knots. The proud owner's maiden voyage was the Mediterranean Sea.
The Al Mirquab, which is 95 meters long (over 311 feet), is the largest launched superyacht cited on oceAnco's Web site. Its interior and exterior design is by oceAnco, and the "A" team is its naval architect. The craft has two master suites and 14 guest cabins. The Al Mirquab, with its steel hull and aluminum superstructure has a fuel capacity of 470 tons. Three 10,000-horsepower MTU engines are deployed to maintain a top speed of 23.5 knots.
Stalwart ship builders with a very distinguished 13-year history, oceAnco can build a dream that will float majestically.
Power Boats: Speed, strength, luxury and beauty combined into one spectacular powerboat? that defines Outerlimits. Started 14 years ago by powerboat maven, Mike Fiore, Outerlimits represents the highest echelon of performance boating for today's technology and quality-savvy customer.
Raised by parents who built a powerboat company in New York, Mike Fiore, president of Outerlimits Powerboats, grew up in the business and on the water. While other children played with trucks and toys, he was running and rigging boats and helping in the lamination shop. When his parents, Paul and Joyce, decided to sell their company and divorce, Fiore and his father stayed on with the new owners for a short time. But while Paul opted for early retirement, Fiore, at the young, yet wise age of 22, decided to start his own boat company. His vision was beyond what the market expected, he wanted to take the powerboat industry to the Outerlimits.
Fast-track 14 years, and Fiore now sits at top of the performance boating industry, having carved a niche for the fastest, most technically advanced and eye-catching boats. He employed his mother to direct interior design and his father as a "right hand," and as a family business, they compete against major corporations. There were some hard years for Fiore, competing in price with production boats while creating a more time, labor and materials-intensive product. He then made a decision to take his product to the upper echelon of the market, raising prices and further raising the bar. He understood his customer and created the boat desired by those who recognized and could afford the best. A growing core of Outerlimits clients remain brand-loyal and routinely update and up-size their boats, creating a following of "disciples"? the company's best salesmen.
With a range of models from the 39-foot Quattro to the 51-foot Sport Yacht, and now, a new 50-foot 200 mph catamaran, Outerlimits Powerboats cover the spectrum of bolster or sit-down configurations, canopied or open cockpits, minimal or lush cabins? and add virtually any other features that satisfy a customer's wishes. All boats meet the strict standards that distinguish Outerlimits. Quad and even 5-step hulls were created to perfect the center of gravity and handling of the various models. Every possible ounce is shaved in construction and each boat is vacuum-bagged to remove air, ensuring light-weight and hence greater speed. Strength and durability are built into each hull and deck by laminating with a precise amount of epoxy, impregnated into carbon fiber fabric. Double-cored bottoms, stringers and bulk heads are specially constructed by craftsmen who combine technology with generations of boat building skills. The final and most important step in construction is post-curing? a one-and-a half day process of heating and cooling the boat to preserve its integrity and resistance to sun, heat and stress, all combining for an extraordinary boat and ride.
Electronics, controls, gauges and engine components are top-of-the-line and geared to the high expectations of power enthusiasts. While Mercury Racing is a popular choice, proprietary engine builders are also selected by customers who desire specific horsepower. No detail is overlooked in perfecting an Outerlimits Powerboat.
The true connoisseur of performance boats also values luxury and Outerlimits provides the ultimate in the cockpit and cabin. Custom, hand-built upholstery provides comfort and durability, while below, fine leather lounges, a V-berth, stand-up head/shower, sink, icebox, lacquered cabinets with exotic wood trims, flat screen TV and full entertainment systems are available. The 9-foot beam offers unusual spaciousness while pocket doors and zippered storage provide convenient, rattle-free enjoyment of amenities and creature comforts, all designed to coordinate with the individualized exterior color scheme of the boat.
The Art of Design's Dean Loucks, is the exclusive creator of the Outerlimits' lavish and recognizable paint schemes. Artist, Loucks and his team confer with the customer and interpret that personality into the design, and incorporate the theme throughout the boat, from paint, dash, carved carpets, and even customized engine compartments. Each mechanized work of art makes a statement
