Watergate Hotel Makes a Comeback

Travel News : The hotel on the complex associated with the political scandal that resulted in President Nixon resigning from office in the early 1970s is going to be restored to its former glory. The new owners of the Watergate Hotel plan to restore the abandoned property to a $300 a night luxury hotel, as reported recently by the Real Estate Blogger, Tom Royce.

The hotel, which is one of five buildings in the Watergate Complex, was sold to Euro Watergate Hotel at an auction last summer. The buyer is a holding company of Euro Capital Properties. It also was reported that the banked-owned property sold for $45 million in an all-cash transaction.

The grand re-opening date of the 12-story, storied hotel was not announced.
