The largest free public event in Nevada returns to Nellis Air Force Base Nov. 14-15 when the U.S. Air Force hosts Aviation Nation 2009-- the Nellis Air Force Base Open House and annual Las Vegas air show.
This year, Aviation Nation celebrates the work of America's 21st century Air Force and its acheivements in air, space and cyberspace. The U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds will headline the two-day event and be joined by several military air demonstration teams and some of the nation's top civilian air performers.
The two-day event will also depict the history of American aviation and salute the recent accomplishments of America's military in operations around the globe through numerous additional military and civilian ground displays. Approximately 100 aircraft covering everything from the earliest days of aviation to some of the nation's newest military aircraft are scheduled to be on display.
