Wings Over South Texas

The 2010 "Wings Over South Texas" air show line-up is now represented by every branch of the military, thanks to the U.S. Air Force's Air Combat Command (ACC). Viper East was added to the list of performers Feb. 22. Viper East is an F-16 aerial demonstration squadron. They fly the F-16 Fighting Falcon, more commonly known to military pilots as "the Viper." The Viper is a compact, extremely maneuverable multi-role fighter aircraft which provides a relatively low-cost, high performance weapons system for the air forces of the U.S. and allied nations. With Viper East on board, the Wings Over South Texas line-up is nearly complete, and promises to be one of the best-ever show cards in Kingsville. Also on the list of performances is a Naval Air Training Command demonstration, aerobatic champion Rob Holland, air show veterans Jan Collmer and Jack Knutson, and Corpus Christi native Paul Fiala, and the Commemorative Air Force's Tora!, Tora!, Tora! team's re-creation of the attack on Pearl Harbor. The "Wow!" factor is now in line for the event, and added to the mix are US Navy and US Army Recruiting simulators, a fun-packed KIDZONE, and a Saturday evening FREE concert with Grammy-nominated country band EMERSON DRIVE immediately following the Saturday show. Pre-show events include an Air Show Pep Rally for elementary, middle and high school students Friday morning, March 26 at Texas A&M University-Kingsville, and a FREE "Meet the Performers" event at the JK Northway Expo Center in Kingsville, from 6-30 - 9 p.m., open to the public!
