Tenuta dell 'Ornellaia started a project called Vendemmia d'Artista, a marriage between the world of contemporary art and that of wine, and one which celebrates the unique character of each new vintage. Every year an internationally-known artist will be commissioned to create a work of art that captures the essence of the wine, the individuality of teh vintage and its specific personality. The project aims to recapture the tradition and value of artistic patronage in a modern-day key.Each year, the unique Salmanazar bearing the label created by the artist, as well as other large-format bottles, will be put to auction and the proceeds will be donated to international cultural programs supporting art. With the Vendemmia d?Artista project, Ornellaia aims to further strengthen the bond between art and wine. Therefore each year, a cultural program that enjoys a link with the arts and the artist?s home country will be the selected recipient to receive the entire auction proceeds.
