Chic Chicago exhibition presents the hallmarks of modern fashion. The exhibition's extraordinary garments date from 1861 to 2004 and represent the most prominent couturiers of the nineteenth and twentieth centuries. Each gown has a strong connection to Chicago and belongs to the Museum's permanent collection.
The Chicago Museum of History presents 50 of its greatest couture pieces at the Chic Chicago exhibition. The survey spans a period from 1878-1996 and features work by designers such as Gianni Versace, Gabrielle "Coco" Chanel and Comme des Garçons offering a wide overview of the changing fashion trends.
