The 2008 Rocky Mountain Concours d'Elegance welcomes members of the Unser family on Labor Day weekend, August 29-September 1, as it spotlights this renowned racing family's achievements on the Pikes Peak International Hillclimb. Additionally, the history (1928-1955) of the British-built Vincent motorcycle will be highlighted. The event, held at the famed Broadmoor in Colorado Springs, Colorado, is a full weekend beginning with the Friday welcoming reception, a RoadTour followed by a Gala dinner on Saturday, the Concours on Sunday, and a Monday golf tournament.
"We debuted successfully in 2007," Dan Kane, event co-founder and chairman says, "with a stellar field of 132 judged vehicles that included 28 motorcycles. An additional 93 vehicles were part of special non-judged displays. Now we're looking forward to welcoming the Unsers, truly a first-family of the Pikes Peak hill climb competition with a cumulative 113 challenges and 39 overall or class wins. We're expecting both Bobby and Al Senior, and anticipate that other racing Unser family members, depending upon their individual racing schedules and commitments, will be here to greet fans and supporters as well. The Unser Racing Museum will display several of the cars that an Unser has competed with on Pikes Peak."
