There are MANY reasons to make the North Shore Dragon Boat Festival your choice. The unparalleled natural beauty of the Grand Marais area and the boundless opportunities that come with it call as you make the scenic drive along Minnesota's North Shore.
You may choose to relax on the harbor and enjoy the sights and sounds of Lake Superior. Or, you may choose to visit our unique shops; learn to sail; take time for kayak lessons; sail on the Hjordis; or make plans to hike on any of the local trails, such as the Superior Hiking Trail. Wildlife viewing and birding are activities enjoyed by many visitors. The community of Grand Marais also offers unique experiences through the North House Folk School, the Grand Marais Art Colony and the Johnson Heritage Post Art Gallery.
Our festival strives to make the weekend a family event - from Friday evening's parade and puppet show, to Saturday's Inter-Generational paddle and dragon egg hunt.
