Paris International Boat Show

There is all you could wish for at this year's Salon Nautique in Paris. Day boats or pleasure boats are once again making a dramatic entrance, and the ocean-going sailboats are continuing their advance. The most surprising trend concerns large sailboats: they were thought to be sidelined by a sluggish economy, but the investments the leading French shipyards made into their production tools have enabled them to provide vessels with an outstanding, quality finish at unbeatable prices.
When it comes to sailboats, all the major shipyards are on hand with their new models: Jeanneau with its new large 53, Bénéteau of course, and also Dufour, Wauquiez, X Yachts, Allures, Fora, Alliaura, Alubat, Archambault, J Europe, Hanse, Grand Soleil, CNB, Latitude 46, Bavaria not to mention the new Lagoon 400, Fountaine Pajot Lipari and Catana 43.
All the leading players in motorboating are present and accounted for: Zodiac, Bénéteau, Jeanneau, Bavaria, as well as the beautiful Rhéa and Latitude 46, the White Sharks, Zeppelin, Sillinger, and the Pursuit, Four Winns, Glastron, the indestructible Triumph and Boston. Fuel economy, with the presentation of new hybrid solutions and increasingly cleaner diesel engines. Evident also is a genuine desire to make manoeuvring easier. As for design, it has become a must, even for mass-produced models.
