The Prado at Balboa Park is delighted to partner with the San Diego Natural History Museum to salute the Titanic with a grand, 10-course Titanic Centennial First Class Wine Dinner Package on Saturday, April 14, 2012 at 6pm.
This exclusive 10-course dinner has been meticulously planned to replicate the final dinner enjoyed by Titanic's first class passengers on April 14, 1912 aboard the legendary ship. Guests will be elegantly served in the Prado Grand Ballroom by wait staff donning white "period" tuxedo jackets and will be treated to a piano quintet playing era-specific melodies from 1912. Special guest Barbara Chronowski, a Titanic historian who portrayed a first class passenger/survivor in the motion picture, will be on hand in Edwardian costume to mingle with Guests and perform a monologue. Each course, prepared by Executive Chef Jonathan Hale, has been selected to portray historical accuracy and will be accompanied by five expertly paired wines.
At the conclusion of the grand meal, guests will be guided to Titanic: The Artifact Exhibition and additional centennial festivities hosted by theNAT. The exhibition is included in the dinner ticket price as well as an exhibition catalogue and a custom audio tour, which outlines each artifact and its relation to the Titanic story. Guests will also enjoy entertainment from Edwardian-era actors roaming the museum in early 20th century attire, replica radio demonstrations and Titanic-themed movies.
Enjoy this historically authentic dining experience and Titanic: The Artifact Exhibition on the eve of its 100th anniversary by purchasing your tickets today. This dinner is limited to 100 Guests and tickets are priced at $212 per person which includes tax and gratuity. To purchase tickets, visit www.buypradotickets.com.
