Matthew gathers his creative inspiration from a number of eras. Ranging from classic Chinese antiquities to elaborate Renaissance motifs, and eclectic Art Deco style to grand Gothic sculptures, Matthew's fascination with the arts infuses his creativity. He uses these strong influences and blends them with modern and quirky nuances to develop opulent M.C.L designs.

To discover and perfect his signature style, Matthew spends a great deal of time exploring Asia and Europe. During his travels he learns about different cultures and their approaches to design, color and sculpture. Matthew is captivated by the use of vibrant colors throughout Asia and applies similar bold contrasting tones to his pieces, a creative trademark that he continues to use today. Jeweled M.C.L by Matthew Campbell Laurenza pieces are individually hand-set with a kaleidoscope of gems, while handbags showcase intricate coloring patterns using unique embroidered fabrics.
