AltaRoma is held twice a year at Rome's Complesso monumentale Santo Spirito in Saxia. It combines elements of traditional fashion shows with a series of unconventional events and experimental performances, designed to intertwine garments with art and spectacle.

The catwalks feature classic collections by established designers along with more daring creations by young talent, hoping to make an impact on both visitors and major fashion houses. There are also photographic exhibitions relating to fashion, talks, conferences and the recently launched "Who's On Next?" contest, a project by AltaRoma in collaboration with Vogue Italia, dedicated to discovering tomorrow's big names.
