Los Angeles' Echo Park provides the setting for the annual Lotus Festival, famous for its lotus flowers, which have been blossoming every year since the 1920s. The event highlights the people and cultures of Asia and the Pacific Islands.
The opening ceremony includes live music and dancing, and a fireworks finale over Echo Park Lake brings the festival to a close on Sunday. Other highlights include displays of traditional arts and crafts, a health fair and an art show.
