Stars from the jazz tradition appearing this year include Sonny Rollins, Chick Corea, Carla Bley, Dave Holland and Branford Marsalis. The opening night concert Jazz Voice features Kurt Elling, Melody Gardot, Madeleine Peyroux, Cleveland Watkiss and the remarkable Cleo Laine.
Latin music is represented by performances from Gilberto Gil, Roberto Fonseca and Omar Puente, while Bela Fleck, John Scofield and Bill Frisell appear together in a specially commissioned project with the BBC Symphony Orchestra.
