NEW YORK, Feb. 24 (UPI)

Church takes old JFK airport glass

Most of the stained glass that was once part of New York's JFK Airport terminal will be taken by the Church of Bible Understanding.

More than 800 panels of the 900-panel window will go to Olde Good Things, a salvage and antique business owned by the church, the New York Post reported Sunday.

The stained-glass wall of red, blue and purple was recognized as the world's largest stained-glass window when it went up in 1960 at the airport, then called Idlewild.

American Airlines said the church group agreed to remove the glass and take it after a two-year effort failed to find a home for the colorful art.
