Teen arrested for using spud launcher

A Pennsylvania teenager was charged with disturbing the peace for using a potato gun to launch spuds into a lake, police said.

Ryan M. Welch, 18, of Medford was arrested by police after they discovered he was using a homemade device to fire potatoes into the air, the Burlington County (Pa.) Times reported Monday.

Welch was shooting potatoes into a lake near the Sherwood Forest housing development, police said.

He was released pending a future court date.
