Leap-year woman expects Feb. 29 baby

A Weehawken, N.J., woman with a Feb. 29 birthday says doctors have told her there's a good chance she will welcome another leap-year baby into her family.

Michelle Birnbaum, who was born on leap day in 1980, said her child is also due Feb. 29 -- its 27-year-old mother's seventh birthday, the New York Post reported Monday.

They said if I make it to my due date, they'll induce me then, Birnbaum said.

Birnbaum and her husband, Jaeson, said they were pleasantly surprised to discover their child might share its mother's unusual birthday.

We couldn't believe it. We were just so excited to find out about the pregnancy. Then to find the due date is leap year -- it's crazy, she said.

Jaeson Birnbaum agreed the timing is amazing.

I'm very excited, he said. Our daughter will always feel special, and she has this in common with her mother.
