SANTA CLARA, Calif., Feb. 25 (UPI)

Wallet found after 33 years

A former student of California's Santa Clara University said construction workers at the college found his wallet -- which he lost 33 years ago.

Tom Eichenberg, who said he can't even remember losing the wallet in 1975, said he was contacted by the school's alumni office and was told his wallet was found behind a wall that had been demolished, the San Jose (Calif.) Mercury News reported Monday.

Eichenberg said the treasures found inside the accidental time capsule included: My student ID card, draft card, Social Security card, a Southern Pacific Peninsula train schedule, a BankAmericard, a BART (Bay Area Rapid Transit) ticket with 10 cents remaining, a 5-cent postage stamp, a Wells Fargo pocket calendar, a receipt for my yearbook photo and a metric conversion table.

He said the billfold also contained numerous pictures of family members, including baby photos of his nephews, who have since grown up.

However, the biggest change from today was my driver's license -- weight: 130 lbs, Eichenberg said.

The wallet brought back memories, but Eichenberg said it did not bring him any spare cash.

I was a typical college student, always broke, he said.
