Pannetta easy opening winner in Mexico

Top-seeded Flavia Pennetta of Italy won her opening tennis match Monday at the Abierto Mexicano Telcel in Acapulco, Mexico.

Pennetta defeated Russian Ekaterina Bychkova 6-4, 6-1.

Pennetta has appeared in the last four finals here, going 1-3. She was last year's runner-up to France's Emilie Loit. She won this tournament in 2005 and was runner-up in 2004 and 2006.

American Jill Craybas also advanced Monday by beating Paraguay's Rossana De Los Rios 6-2, 6-2.
