COL BKB: Texas 74, Kansas State 65

D.J. Augustin scored 24 points, Connor Atchley scored 14 and A.J. Abrams had 13 Monday night, to lead No. 5 Texas to a 74-65 win over Kansas State.

The Longhorns (24-4, 11-2 Big 12) have won eight straight.

Kansas State freshman Michael Beasley led all scorers with 30 points and grabbed 15 rebounds, but it was not enough to prevent the Wildcats (18-9, 8-5) from posting their third straight loss.

Kansas State held the lead early in the second half, but Texas took over on a three-pointer by Atchley followed by a 7-0 run during which Augustin scored five points.

The Longhorns then put together a 5-0 run to go up 62-54, and stayed in front the rest of the way.
