There’s an interesting new digital cooking magazine called Panna that we wanted to share with you. One of the things we like best about it, is that it delivers restaurant quality recipes from noted chefs in an easy and approachable way. Every edition includes thirteen seasonal recipes in video format set in the home kitchen of the chef who created the dish. It allows you to cook alongside the chef while they show you exactly what they mean by “medium chop” or “a semi-thick consistency.”
Panna gives the viewer an inside look into the journey the chef took to create their dish. In a recent interview with good friend of Kalamazoo, Chef Rick Bayless, he shares his first Molé experience. “I wasn’t sure what my reaction to it was going to be, all I knew was that this was maybe going to change my life” recalls Rick. He goes on to describe what he learned throughout his travels in Mexico and what ultimately led him to open a Mexican restaurant, “Most people didn’t know enough about the cooking, about the flavors, about the dishes, to be able to make it themselves.” Check out the interview with Rick below.
Panna is available as an app for the iPad and iPhone. Visit the website if you would like to learn more http://pannacooking.com/.
